National Day for Truth and Reconciliation - Orange Shirt Day

On September 30, Canada marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.
The day honours the children who never came home from residential schools, and the Survivors, families and communities still carrying that history. The orange shirt comes from Phyllis Webstad, whose new shirt was taken from her on her first day at residential school in 1973. Every Child Matters.
Across the Alpha Group of Companies, we teach, employ and serve people in communities throughout Ontario. That work asks us to understand the history those communities carry. Learning it is not separate from the work. It is part of doing it well.
This September 30, we invite our staff, students, clients and partners to take time to learn, listen and reflect.
